Sometimes an icy treat is all that we need to stay satiated and cooled down. Here are some cool ideas to try that involve water and fruit! With these ingredients, you won’t have to worry about added sugar or dairy products!
Summer Ice Treat #1: Fruit Popsicles!
Having a popsicle in the middle of summer just feels right! You can make your own without any added sugar and here’s how. Using a blender, blend up fresh cut fruit with some water. Then, pour your mixture into popsicle molds. Allow enough time for them to freeze in the freezer. Take them out when they are ready and enjoy a healthy and natural fruit popsicle!
Summer Ice Treat #2: Fruit Ice Cubes!
Another tasty and refreshing treat to try is fruit ice cubes! Simply cut up some fruit and put them into ice cube trays. Add water and freeze the cubes. When they are ready, add them to water and have a cool and cool-looking drink of fruit-flavoured water! As the ice cubes melt, you can also eat the fruit too! Yum!
Summer Ice Treat #3: Smoothie Ice Cubes!
A variation of the fruit ice cubes, simply pour a mixture of a fruit smoothie (blended fruit and water) into an ice cube tray and freeze it. You can eat them with fresh fruit as a very icy treat or wait for them to melt a bit in a glass of water. Either way, you will have a very cool treat to feast on when you’re feeling hot!
Summer is all about tasty treats! With these ideas, you won’t have to feel guilty about giving your toddler overly sugary treats. Tasty, refreshing and healthy! YUM!
