Fruit Smoothies

Trying to beat the heat this summer? Why not forget the ice-cream and try a fruit smoothie? Fruit smoothies are a great way to incorporate fresh fruits (and vegetables) into your diet and make for a refreshing summer treat!

Fruit smoothies are made with a blender, and there are plenty of smaller blenders on the market today! Some are even small enough for a single serving.

To make a smoothie, simply put clean, cut up fruit and water (or milk) into the blender. Feel free to add vegetables as well, such as cucumbers or celery. This gives the smoothie a refreshing taste and a great way to include fresh veggies into your day. Add ice as well to make it cold!

You can even make this a fun activity with your toddler. Have them choose the fruit they want to include and experiment with different mixes of fruit.

Here are some simple mixes we like:

Smoothie #1: Pinkie Mix

Strawberries

Raspberries

Banana

Milk (or Water)

Ice

Smoothie #1: Green Monster

Cucumber

Celery

Apple

Banana

Water

Ice

Smoothie #3: The Everything Shake

Blueberries

Strawberries

Banana

Celery

Kale

Water

Ice
